Student Day

The DHS Office of University Programs hosted Student Day on March 29, 2011, at the Washington, DC Renaissance Hotel for undergraduate and graduate students who are sponsored by the DHS Office of University Programs and Centers of Excellence.

Student Day is intended to foster networking and continued interest in homeland security fields while highlighting the successes of DHS sponsored students. Student Day consisted of:

  • Mini Career Fair
  • Student Presentations, Guest Speakers and Panels
  • Poster Session

Student Day provided an opportunity for DHS sponsored students to make presentations on their research; hear from an insightful panel of DHS, federal, and national laboratory employees on employment; receive the latest news from the Student and Alumni Network; and network with other students and Center of Excellence directors.

The poster session was held March 30, 2011. It was open to the public.

Judging for the top three posters was conducted during the poster session. The winners of the poster competition were announced during the 5th Annual DHS University Network Summit. The winning posters can be viewed on the Student Poster List page.
