Meeting Call for Participation
ASCR: Beyond ECP
The Exascale Computing Project (ECP) will be completed in the next few years. The ASCR Advisory Committee (ASCAC) is charged by the DOE Office of Science to identify elements of ECP that should be transitioned into ASCR research or other SC/ASCR initiatives. The ASCAC "Transition Subcommittee" is studying the situation and developing a detailed suggested response to this charge that will be presented to ASCAC for comment, editing, and approval in the fall of 2019. The report will provide guiding strategies and approaches that will be key to ensuring future U.S. leadership across the full range of disciplines stewarded by ASCR.
We are inviting community input and discussion to this process during two meetings this summer, both co-located with ASCR town hall meetings:
- Meeting 1, August 22-23 in Oak Ridge, TN [Completed]
- Meeting 2, October 24-25 in the
Arlington, VA
area
Meeting 2 will offer participants the opportunity to share their perspectives on the transition with the subcommittee and engage with each other and the subcommittee around some of the issues.
