The National Nuclear Security Administration is pleased to announce the 2020 Stewardship Science Academic Programs (SSAP) Symposium will be held February 26-27, 2020 at the Wardman Park Marriott, 2660 Woodley Road NW, Washington DC.
The Office of Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation sponsors the Stewardship Science Academic Programs (SSAP) which includes the Stewardship Science Academic Alliances (SSAA) Program, the High Energy Density Laboratory Plasmas (HEDLP) Program, the National Laser Users' Facility (NLUF) Program, and the Predictive Science Academic Alliance Program (PSAAP).
The goals of this symposium are to:
- Highlight accomplishments of the academic programs. These presentations are part of the periodic reviews of the program to assess progress and ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Promote interaction and help build user communities in areas of physical science relevant to stockpile stewardship.
- Foster ties between participants, sponsors, and the NNSA National Laboratories and identify areas for future collaboration.
- Encourage student and postdoctoral researcher involvement and interaction with the scientific community.
SSAA, HEDLP, and NLUF grantees – you will be contacted by email if you are expected to give a presentation. Presentations on topics of general interest will also be given by National Laboratory and/or DOE/NNSA personnel. All presentations and discussions will be unclassified. Students and post-docs are encouraged to present a poster at the Poster Session and Reception scheduled for the evening of February 26, 2020. Please be sure to register your poster. Deadline to register posters is February 7, 2020. Only registered posters will be displayed.
