Abstract Guidelines

An abstract is expected for each poster. An abstract is not to be submitted for a plenary session presentation or a breakout session presentation.

Posters

All lead SBR and TES Principal Investigators are expected to present a poster on their funded project. Due to limitations on poster space, there is a limit of one poster from each TES/SBR funded project. DOE National Laboratory SFA programs will be allocated a specific number of posters by their BER program manager.

SFA programs are required to submit a single, consolidated set of abstracts for every SFA poster to be presented at the meeting. The consolidated set of SFA poster abstracts must be submitted as a single pdf file. Each abstract within the consolidated set is limited to one page. Each abstract must start on a new page, have a title, and have authors listed, with the presenter listed first. The abstract submission form includes an Abstract Type category entitled "SFA Poster Group" for this purpose. If an SFA is funding an external collaborator at another institution, the poster abstract for that investigator must be included in the submitted set from the SFA program. Poster abstracts from a single individual supported by an SFA will not be accepted or included in the abstract book.

Students who are supported by an SFA and who have been selected for a poster presentation are to submit their poster abstract separately from the SFA set of abstracts.

Poster abstracts should include recent progress and key findings of the project. A graduate student or postdoctoral research associate may be the first author on the poster, but the TES/SBR Principal Investigator associated with the project should be clearly indicated.

All poster abstracts will be reviewed by the SBR and TES Program Managers before being accepted. PIs funded by related DOE programs such as the SBIR or Early Career Programs, or jointly funded by TES/SBR and another program may also submit poster abstracts.

Students selected for travel fellowships are expected to submit a poster abstract by the deadline.

Poster abstracts should be submitted using the Submit Abstracts form on this site.

Accepted Abstracts will be posted on the Abstracts page of this site.

Poster abstracts must be submitted no later than February 24, 2017.

Posters will be limited to a size of 4 feet by 4 feet.

Plenary and Breakout Session Presentations

A select number of oral presentations will be requested (plenary and breakout). Program Managers will reach out to those individuals, although suggestions are welcome.
