While doing air reconnaissance for a mission to recover MIA remains in southeast Asia, a helicopter crashed in early April, killing everyone on board.  None of our ORISE participants were on that project, so all are safe and sound.

Greg Berg, ORISE research participant at the U.S. Army's Central Identification Laboratory in Hawaii (CILHI), was recently working on a  mission to recover servicemen's remains in Laos when a small commercial aircraft crashed, killing some of the passengers.  The Lao government asked the CILHI anthropologists to lend their expertise in the recovery of the victims from the crash site.  Greg, in front pulling on rope, is pictured along with other CILHI personnel removing remains from the crash area.
