Lamm Dinner with Laureates |

The American delegation hosted a dinner at
the Goldenes Lamm Restaurant in Lindau on Tuesday evening. In attendance
were Nobel Laureates Edmond Fischer and Hamilton Smith with his wife
Elisabeth. The students were able to have some quality time with the
Laureates during the course of the evening.
Also in attendance were Klaus Wrogemann and his wife
Dorit of the University of Manitoba; Dennis Patton of the University of
Arizona; Jerry McClure of the U.S. Department of Energy; Yasuko Hashizumi,
photo journalist from the Japan Travel Writers Organization; Mitio Inokuti of
Argonne National Laboratory; journalist Bill Bowers with his wife Vanessa;
and Ludwig Feinendegen, vice-president of the Kuratorium; as well as four
American students and one British student from other delegations. |

Nobel Laureate Hamilton Smith. Bowers met up with the American delegation in Munich and
accompanied the group throughout the week in Lindau as he gathered material for
some articles on the meeting.
