Priscilla Campbell, ORISE, talks with Tom Luu about what to expect when he gets to Germany.		Don Freeburn, DOE General Engineer in the Office of Science, chats with students before they leave for Europe.

Roland Hirsch and Jim Decker greet the honored students and answer questions about DOE's Office of Science research programs.		Ernest Moniz, Under Secretary for Energy, Science, and Environment, discussed DOE's R&D programs and long range energy strategies.

Harold Jaffe, Special Assistant, International Programs office of High Energy and Nuclear Physics, talks with students about DOE-funded research.		Students listened attentively to briefings on several topics during the morning session in Washington, D.C.

Mark Jones studies a map of Bodensee (Lake Constance) and the area where the meeting with the Nobel Laureates will be held.		Sam Barish from DOE's Office of Science talked with James Patterson during a break.

During the breaks, the students had an opportunity to meet and get to know each other--an important part of establishing friendships and contacts that may last a lifetime.
