The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Science, Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES) and the Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future (DMREF) program of the National Science Foundation (NSF) will host a Materials Genome Initiative (MGI) Principal Investigators' Meeting at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda, Maryland 20852). The meeting will begin on Monday, January 11, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. and will end Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.

Meeting Program Managers: Dr. John Schlueter (NSF), Dr. James Davenport, Dr. Mark Pederson & Dr. Matthias Graf (DOE)

The Materials Genome Initiative (MGI) is an interagency program intended to shorten the time to bring new materials from discovery to deployment. It combines computational tools, experimental tools and digital data in an iterative fashion leading to validated software, curated data, and materials synthesis. This meeting will bring together principal investigators from NSF's DMREF Program (Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future) and the DOE's Predictive Theory and Modeling Program funded by the Office of Basic Energy Sciences. Additional BES PIs will be included from selected Energy Frontier Research Centers. The meeting will serve as a venue for scientists to present and exchange information about their research activities, to foster new ideas and establish collaborations, and to discuss future research directions. It will also help NSF/DOE in assessing the needs of this research community and in charting future programmatic directions.

Each Principal Investigator is requested to submit an abstract in advance and to prepare a poster. Programs should submit one abstract per project. Guidelines for abstracts and posters are found under the Submission Guidelines tab. ABSTRACT DEADLINE: December 28, 2015.

All attendees must register for the meeting by entering information on this website under the Registration menu option. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, January 4, 2016.
