Answers to Activity 2.

  1. Select projects that give participants opportunities for hands-on experiences that complement their academic course of study and connect theory to practice.
  2. Choose projects where you can remain flexible so that you may change or adapt the project based on feedback (skills, interests, etc.) from the participant you select.
  3. Define what the participant must accomplish so that the project comes to a successful conclusion.
  4. Put the project in the context of the "big picture" so participants can see beyond their own piece of the puzzle.
  5. Determine what training is required for the participant to do the project safely.
