Morning talks were presented by
Laureates Theodor Hänsch of Germany; Aaron Ciechanover of Israel;
and John Hall, Roy Glauber, Peter Agre, and Walter Kohn all of the
U.S.
After the morning session, a select
group of American students met at the Hotel Stift for lunch with the
Indian delegation, sponsored by the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology
Forum.
The afternoon continued with small
group sessions presided over by Laureates Glauber, Hall, Hänsch,
Kohn, Ciehanover, and Deisenhofer.
For dinner, the group convened at the
Lindauer Hof restaurant. Guests were Laureates Robert Curl, Jr. and
his wife Janel, Sherwood Rowland, John Hall, and Rudolph Marcus, as
well as Countess Bettina (daughter of Countess Sonja), Dr. Maria
Michel Byerle (biophysicist at the Technical University of Munich),
her niece Claudia Sigolotto, Dr. Jerry McClure of the U.S.
Department of Energy, and Dr. Dennis Patton retired from the
University of Arizona.
