On Monday evening, the city of Lindau and the Lindau Meeting Foundation sponsored a social gathering for the students and laureates. The highlight of the evening was a polonaise led by Count Christian Bernadotte and Mayor Petra Meier toBernd-Seidl. Men and women line up separately and are randomly paired for a procession which culminates in a waltz. The ladies receive a red carnation from the men. Students were able to interact with laureates during the course of the evening. In addition, a gift was presented to Countess Bettina Bernadotte-Haug with best wishes for the birth of her first child. Later in the evening, the students gathered to present a gift to the Bernadotte family in appreciation for their patronage of the Lindau meeting. The presentation was followed by a group photo with Count Christian.
