The objectives for this session are to:
Do you want to learn how high blood pressure indicators are being used for planning and evaluation of heart disease and stroke prevention policies and programs? Are you frustrated because selecting indicators for the work your state is doing to address HBP seems impossible? Have you chosen HBP indicators but defining them for use in your state is a challenge? Would you like technical assistance for your state’s specific indicator issues? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this session is for you!
This session provides a brief overview of comprehensive HBP indicators and assist states in using indicators for planning and evaluation. Depending on the needs of participants, technical assistance is provided to help the participant understand a process for identifying appropriate indicators for state use or, for states that have already selected indicators, technical assistance will focus on operationalizing indicators, including a discussion of measurement and conceptual issues. Participants leave this session with a template to help define indicators in their state.
This session is open to everyone: Program Managers, Epidemiologists, and Evaluators. Please bring your HBP logic models, MIS objective print-outs, or work plans to use in technical assistance roundtables.
