GIS Web Portal

The CDC Maproom roundtable will be demonstrating a new GIS-focused site specifically for heart disease and stroke prevention. Partiicpants will receive an introduction to the site and be encouraged to interact with the site during the session. Feedback on usability, content, and overall effectiveness of the site is encouraged.

DHDSP Roadmap

The Roadmap is a Web-based resource for training and information to help build the competencies needed by state Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (HDSP) Programs. It provides suggested steps for carrying out requirements of the HDSP Program as well as easy online access to training, tools, and other resources needed for successful program development and implementation. This Demonstration will take users through the various components of the Roadmap and will include an interactive exercise to better get the user better acquainted with the resource.

MIS

An interactive discussion with access to the MIS reporting system. The session will cover most frequently asked questions regarding MIS, and will provide sample objectives aligned with the new high blood pressure indicators.

What’s in a Website? Experiences in Website Design and Usability Testing

This demonstration includes a discussion on designing and testing websites. This may be helpful to grantees that have completed website re-designs or plan to re-design existing websites in the future.

National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) Report Tool Demonstration

This demonstration will focus on web-based EMS report tools under development by Dr. Mann and the NEMSIS Technical Assistance Center. These report tools will be available to EMS stakeholders as a resource for querying their state's and the nation's performance in emergency care of acute cardiovascular events. Participants will learn how to customize and run data queries and will be able to provide Dr. Mann input on what types of EMS information and report format state public health officials would like to see.

HDSP Policy Database

This session will demonstrate the use of the HDSP policy database and mapping application and will provide an update on the HDSP policy project.
