Work Plan Development Through Strategic Planning

Session Objective

Upon completion of the training participants will be able to use strategic planning to develop work plan objectives consistent with CDC priority areas, and identify possible evaluation strategies.

  • Developing SMART objectives with measurable outcomes
  • Integrating evaluation into work plan development

Activity

  • Small groups of participants will identify state program objectives and participate in an exercise to align program objectives with CDC priority areas.
  • Groups will use a template developed by the North Carolina HDSP Program to develop SMART objectives and identify possible evaluation strategies.

Session Summary

The focus of this session is to enhance state program capacity to develop strategic, measurable work plans consistent with CDC HDSP Program priority areas. Participants will have an opportunity to use a template designed by the North Carolina HDSP Program to facilitate development of strategic, measurable objectives, and participate in interactive learning exercises designed to enhance the alignment of state program objectives with CDC priority areas.
