
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to describe how the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (HDSP) and its three branches are prepared to provide technical assistance to the state HDSP programs.
The opening session will focus on the vision and path forward for the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention. The Acting Director for the Division will discuss the relevancy of the Public Health Action Plan to the state Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention programs and introduce the recently announced Deputy Director and Branch Chiefs for the Division. Each will provide a description of their branch’s work and how it can assist the states in the carrying out of their responsibilities for heart disease and stroke prevention.
