Objective/Supporting Skills and Knowledge
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to explain the relationship of key elements of the Program Announcement for successful completion of the grant application.
In addition, session participants will be able to:
- Identify the required recipient activities in the CDC Program Announcement for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and understand the performance measures.
- Gain an understanding of how to organize a successful application, and how the review process is conducted.
- Describe the priority approaches for heart disease and stroke prevention in four settings.
- Explain how the budget forms are used, how to justify budget categories, and how to locate information from the PGO website.
- Understand the steps for developing SMART objectives and the role of evaluation.
Summary
The Federal Government follows a formal announcement process for cooperative agreements through an open competition nationally. This session will provide an in-depth review of the Request for Application Program Announcement specific to the Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program emphasizing the key required recipient activities, budget information, and suggestions for developing a successful application.
