Description

Signs of Stroke Campaign: We developed a campaign to increase the knowledge of signs and symptoms of stroke among the African American population. Simple messages were developed based on the Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Scale, and materials were developed and distributed via African American print and radio outlets, as well as churches. Focus groups were held in two churches following receipt of the materials and reinforcement of the message by our State Health Officer. Resources to be shared include the communication plan, copies of the materials developed, and focus group findings.
