Description

Illinois Stroke Task Force Legislation-The Illinois General Assembly created a Stroke Task Force. The task force is composed of 19 members who were appointed by the Governor; and four ex officio members (selected House and Senate members). The task force will advise the Department with regard to setting priorities for improvements in stroke prevention and treatment efforts.

Local Health Department Assessment- A survey to assess current practices, needs and training related to heart disease and stroke in the 94 Local Health Departments in Illinois .

Translated Fact Sheets-The Illinois Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program in collaboration with the Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly (CLESE) translated two program fact sheets into six languages. Both the “Warning Signs of a heart Attack and Stroke” and “Know Your Numbers” are available in Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Urdu.
