Collaboration:  What Makes It Work

Summary

This session will use a fun and interactive process to demonstrate the skills needed for effective group or meeting facilitation, and will allow participants to practice the skills they learn. The topics to be covered include: (1) Managing the process of group discussion in a meeting (2) Advocating for fair and open procedures (3) Promoting clarity and understanding among all meeting participants (4) Handling communication flow or verbal contributions (5) Assertive, Passive and Aggressive facilitation styles. Participants will have an opportunity to practice their facilitation skills in a safe environment, where there are no mistakes, and everything that happens is a learning opportunity.
