Post BS and Post AAS Degree
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien (PRAs are subject to DOE clearance approval for laboratory entry).
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be pursuing a degree or career in science, mathematics, engineering, technology, or related fields.
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0.
- Have received a two-year college or bachelor’s degree within one year of the participation term.
Application Deadlines
- Summer: February 1
- Fall: June 1
- Spring: October 1
Note: It is recommended that you submit your application by the deadline. However, applications are accepted at any time.
Term
- 2-12 months consecutively
- No return
- Part time: 1–3 days per week in 4 hour increments only
Stipend
- Post-AAS: $400/week paid bi-weekly
- Post-BS: $450/week paid bi-weekly
- $75/week housing allowance (for students whose permanent residence is outside a radius of 60 miles of ORNL)
- Tuition and fees for off-campus programs (offered at the discretion of the research mentor)
Application Information
All of the following must be submitted for the applicant to be considered:
- Completed application form.
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended.
- Two academic references.
NOTE: If you are selected for an appointment, you will be required to submit an official transcript from your college or university. Any falsification will render you ineligible for participation and, if found after participation has begun, may require you to reimburse any funds received.
