Exercise Builder is a Windows®-based application used for designing and developing emergency preparedness drills and exercises. The program allows your emergency management preparedness staff to create Drill and Exercise Plans based on information customized for their facility or site. Separate documents are created for each of the components that make up an Exercise Plan.

Added to Exercise Builder 2008 is Step 14 – After action Reporting. This step will assist the user in creating the Exercise After Action Report. Allows for the entering of Exercise Findings, Improvement Items, Superior Performance and Noteworthy Practices. Generates multiple reports based on user entered exercise evaluation results to used when developing the Exercise After Action Report.

Exercise Builder features:

  • Provides step-by-step, prompted guide to developing the documents required for an Exercise Plan. (See screen shots 1, 2)

  • Stores specific site and ERO information that is automatically inserted into the Exercise Plan. (See screen shots 3, 4, 5, 6)

  • Suggests appropriate exercise objectives based on scenario type and exercise participants. (See screen shots 7, 8)

  • Allows for customizing of exercise objectives and ability to add new objectives. (See screen shots 9, 10)

  • Automatically generates a MSEL after times are assigned to response steps. (See screen shots 11, 12)

  • Stores and links exercise messages to the MSEL, if the MSEL times change, the messages are updated and resequenced. (See screen shots 13, 14, 15, 16)

  • Generates entries for the Controller Directories based on message addressees. (See screen shots 17, 18)
