HIV/AIDS – Roving eyes

VISUAL: Man with his hand holding his chin [appears to have something on his mind].  He takes off his glasses and rubs his eyes; puts his eyeglasses back on; begins to talk to someone who is in the room with him. 

FATHER: When two people feel the way that your mother and I do… about each other.

SON: Ah….

VISUAL: Man is talking to his son who is sitting in a chair across from the father.  [sons hands and legs are visible].  The camera is roaming around the room to indicate that the son is distracted and not concentrating of what his father is saying. 

FATHER: There’s a strong desire… to express that love.

VISUAL: The son starts to taps his fingers on his pant leg.  [to get the son attention]  The father takes his hand and squeezes the sons pant leg.

FATHER: Are you listening?

SON:  Dad… is this a sex talk… because if it is, I already know all about it.

FATHER: Oh, you do!

SON: Huh um

FATHER: How well do you know all about it?

SON: Well enough.

FATHER: Well enough!  Hm… I know you and your friends you know it all…just…humor me.

VISUAL: Son rubs his hand down his pant leg while moving his foot up and down.

FATHER: You know about… pregnancy?

SON: uh…huh

FATHER: You know how I feel about responsibility.

SON: yes

FATHER: How much do you know about AIDS?

VISUAL: Camera focuses on the father observing his son.

FATHER: Looks like we have a couple of things to talk about…uh.  Joshua… someone can have the AIDS virus for a long time and not even know it.
