Glaucoma – Grandpa
AUDIO: [piano music plays]
VISUAL: Car drives up in front of a house. A young girl gets out of car. Grey haired man drinking coffee in the kitchen hears a car horn and looks up.
NARRATOR: As you get older the things you have dreamed of all your life are beginning to pay off. But if you are over 60 or black and over 40, something can sneak up on you gradually. It’s called Glaucoma. And if you don’t gets your eyes examined it can lead to blindness.
VISUAL: the man walks through the dining room and runs his fingers along the edge of the buffet table to guide him into the living room.
VISUAL: Girl opens the gate and runs up the steps to the front door of the house, opens the door and runs to her grandpa who is sitting on the couch.
GIRL: Grandpa, Grandpa…look Grandpa.
VISUAL: Man feels the girl’s head and runs his fingers along side of her face to feel her hair, but the man is not looking at the girls hair, his eyes seem to be looking beyond the little girl.
MAN: You got your hair cut.
GIRL: Yeah!
VISUAL: Girl smiles and gives her grandpa a kiss on the cheek. Grandpa gives the little girl a big hug.
MAN: You’re growing up…makes me so proud you.
VISUAL: Girl grabs his hand and pulls him off of the couch to follow her.
GIRL: Come on, grandpa.
