The Lost Sea

The Lost Sea was a large cave we visited. It is also known as America's largest underground lake and recognized for it's sized by the Guinness book of world records. When we got there the guides split us into two groups and we were taken on a tour throughout the cave. Along this tour we saw some amazing natural structures, such as huge stalactites and stalagmites. We also saw many other mineral structures and the neat things that water erosion can do over a long period of time. Our tour was about three quarters of a mile and took around an hour to complete. Our guide told us many stories about the history of the cave including its use by the Cherokee Indians, how a little boy discovered it, and many other tales regarding guests and their take on some of the differently shaped objects. Overall we all had a good time and seen some things we should never forget.
