Dollywood
The best field trip was to Dollywood. We rode rides like the Tennessee Tornado, the Blazin' Fury, the Rampage, the Daredevil's Fall, and the Scrambler. The Tennessee Tornado was a steel rollercoaster that went up to 70 mph. It contained lots of loops and tunnels. The Blazin' Fury was an indoor rollercoaster and water ride. It was very interesting because the ride was very dark and you couldn't not see what was ahead of you. At one point on the ride there was a sudden drop and no one was expecting it. We had to stand in line for about 45 minutes because this is a very popular attraction at the theme park. On this ride, we got onto a raft where we went around on a river-like track and were soaked as we encountered rapids.
Other rides included the Ferris wheel, the swings, and more common attractions. The games were fun, and many prizes were won.
Dollywood is a country-based theme park. Stores selling cowboy hats were frequently seen, the buildings looked like they came out of the western front of the 1800's, all of the rides were named for the theme, and the kinds of foods sold were country, too.
Lunch and dinner were eaten at the park. Meal vouchers were provided and we ate at restaurants such as Red's Diner, a '50s style restaurant, and other vendors.
