Simulations of Cooling, Heating, and Power Systems

A team of six high-school students will get an overview of CHP Research Program at ORNL. As a specific task, they will evaluate the applicability of the Internet-based gas turbine simulation software to compare it with the EXCEL-based computer code that has been developed at ORNL. The evaluation will be performed at different ambient conditions and turbine parameters (electric power output, air flowrate, ambient temperature, etc.). The list of parameters will be compiled and discussed with the students. Some experience with Internet and Microsoft EXCEL will be needed.
