Many thanks to those of you who joined us this week at the University of Maryland for the Algal Biofuels Workshop! Over the course of the two days, we had the opportunity to gain a very stimulating look at the promising algal biofuels industry and learn more about the challenges that we, as a nation, need to overcome in this realm. Your time and energy are appreciated, and we look forward to capturing the results of the workshop in a technological roadmap that will help guide our office’s planning efforts. The success of the algal biofuel industry will contribute to meeting the U.S. biofuel production targets set by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
Many of you requested that the presentation materials and those drafted within the various breakout sessions be made available. The presentations and “report out” materials from the various breakout sessions will be provided in pdf format along with a brief Workshop Summary in early January 2009. A summary of the events and meeting is already posted below for your convenience.
Once again, thanks for your continued interest and participation. Enjoy the holiday season and visit this site again early in the New Year for more materials and updates.
