As a sponsor, your company will be acknowledged in Science Bowl materials. We hope also to provide other incentives and rewards to students for participating in the Tennessee Science Bowl, such as tote bags, gift certificates for computer equipment and software, etc. But we can’t do it without your support.
Your contributions will help make this a first-class event for the students and their teachers!
What is the Tennessee Science Bowl?
It’s a fast-paced, tournament-style academic competition in which teams of high school students answer questions in eight subject areas: astronomy, biology, chemistry, computer science, earth science, general science, mathematics, and physics.The teams consist of four student players, a student alternate, and a teacher who serves as a coach and advisor. Regional competitions are held across the country, and the winners of each regional advance to the National Science Bowl® in Washington D.C.
The top four winning teams of the National Science Bowl® receive trips to international and domestic science experiences. Last year, 31 teams from across the nation and the Virgin Islands competed for the championship.
Through the Science Bowl, students expand their knowledge and abilities as they prepare for this event, which tests students on both an individual and a team level. Students must have confidence in their science and math knowledge as they not only compete against another team, but also try to beat the clock.
This year’s event will be at the Blount County Campus of Pellissippi State Technical Community College.
