Thursday, June 21   Travel to Washington D.C.

Friday, June 22   Department of Energy Orientation and Departure

7:00 a.m.   Dress for the day is business attire including tie for gentlemen (jacket or sport coat optional) and comparable attire for women. Wear comfortable shoes: it is a 15-minute walk to DOE building (taxi if raining).  

8:15 a.m.   DOE’s Forrestal Building

Orientation to DOE and the Nobel meeting. 

Later, visit Smithsonian to view Nobel Voices exhibit. 

1:00 p.m.   Hotel and marina environs

1:30 p.m.   Check out of room. Lunch.

2:30 p.m.   Board bus to airport.

3:00 p.m.   Reagan National Airport

Overnight Flight to Zurich.

Saturday, June 23   Arrival in Zurich; Bus to Lindau

9:30 a.m.   Zurich Airport

10:00 a.m.   Chartered bus to Lindau. 

12:00 Noon   Lindau. Vis-a-vis Hotel or Hotel Move.  Free time to rest and explore. 

Sunday, June 24   Free Time and Conference Registration

9:00 a.m.   Breakfast

3:00 p.m.   Inselhalle. Conference registration

7:30 p.m.   Restaurant am See, Inselhalle

Monday, June 25    Conference Day 1 

8:00 a.m.  Breakfast Room Vis-à-vis Hotel Daily info session

9:00 a.m.   Inselhalle.  Conference activities as scheduled

7:00 p.m.   Inselhalle   Opening social event.

Wednesday, June 27   Conference Day 3

1:00 p.m.   Hotel Stift Lunch with Laureates.

8:30 p.m.   Stadttheater Optional:  Flute and piano concert.  

Thursday, June 28   Conference Day 4

9:00 a.m.   Inselhalle and breakout locations Conference activities as scheduled

Friday, June 29   Conference Closing Ceremonies; Depart for Zurich

7:45 a.m.  Ferry at Lindau Harbor Board boat for trip to Mainau for closing ceremonies and a day in the Mainau gardens. 

6:00 p.m.  Ferry returns to Lindau (time approximate)

7:30 p.m.  Vis-a-vis Hotel Board charter bus to Zurich.  Overnight in Zurich.

Saturday, June 30   Return Flight to U.S. or Individual Travel Begins
