Dr. Charles Steger is the 15th president of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech)
Under President Steger’s leadership, the university has charted a course to expand its research enterprise and establish Virginia Tech among the nation’s top research universities.
Dr. Steger’s other leadership duties and attributes include:
- President of the Council of Presidents of the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA).
- Recently served as chairman of the Virginia Council of Presidents
- Appointed by four Governors of Virginia to serve on various boards dealing with higher education, homeland security, information technology, and international education.
